Students will not be allowed to carry or use cell phones during the school day.<\/strong>\u00a0Phones are available in our office should a student need to contact their parent\/guardian. Additionally, if you need to get a message to your child, you can do that by calling the main office.\u00a0 If a student brings a cell phone to school for after school use, it will be the student’s responsibility to ensure that their phone remains off and stored in their locker (or backpack if the student is choosing to not use their assigned locker) during the school day.<\/p>\n

Expectations for Storage of Cell Phones (If brought to CMS):<\/strong><\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Devices are REQUIRED<\/strong> to be powered off and stored inside your locker upon arrival to school and must stay powered off and in your locker\/school bag until the end of the school<\/span><\/li>\n
  • CMS is not responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen devices.<\/li>\n
  • Students are NOT<\/b> allowed to carry cell phones in their pocket and\/or use their cell phone during school<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Consequences for misuse:<\/b><\/h3>\n

    Should a student choose to violate the FHPS Cell Phone Policy the following will occur:<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    • 1<\/i><\/b>st<\/i><\/b> Offense:<\/i><\/b>\u00a0 <\/span><\/i>Staff member secures the device and turns device into the Main Office.\u00a0 The student may pick up the device from the Main Office at the end of the school day. A notification will be emailed home.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • 2<\/i><\/b>nd<\/i><\/b> Offense:<\/i><\/b>\u00a0 <\/span><\/i>Staff member secures the device and turns device into the Main Office.\u00a0 A parent\/guardian will be required to pick up the device from the Main Office.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    • 3<\/i><\/b>rd<\/i><\/b> Offense:<\/i><\/b>\u00a0 <\/span><\/i>Staff member secures the device and turns device into the Main Office.\u00a0 The student will receive disciplinary action which may include detention(s), social probation, or other consequences.\u00a0 A parent\/guardian will be required to pick up the device from the Main Office.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Additional offenses may result in loss of privilege of bringing a cell phone to school, additional school level consequences such as but not limited to detentions, and a parent\/guardian meeting.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      In all cases, we will work with students using Restorative Practices to support student growth in following the FHPS Cell Phone Policy.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
